Bye bye acne.

Hello my lovely caterpillars,

I know I have been VERY absent lately and I apologise for that. But I'm back and will try to keep a regular schedule to post some cute articles for you guys. (:

Some of you may or may not know that I don't have the greatest skin.. I have enormous pores and pretty bad acne at some points. One day I went to Lush and the salesman offered me a sample of one of their facial soaps. He explained to me that all the plants in it would help to calm the redness on my face and reduce my pores. He added that he used it himself after shaving and guys I swear that dude had marvellous skin! Plus when you consider that all their products are all natural, I'd say it would be worth a try, right? So I went for it not thinking anything would happen to my skin since nothing really ever worked before.

I have been using Fresh Farmacy for about a month now and I love it! My skin has pretty much cleared up, my pores have reduced, my skin isn't as oily as it used to be and it leaves a great fresh and soft feeling on your face after using it. :D Plus the smell is pretty amazing, super flowery? Is that even a real word? Oh well.. (: And last but not least it is super inexpensive (well in my opinion it is -> 8€ for 100g isn't that expensive since it lasts a whole while).

All in all I totally recommend this cleanser to you guys if you have a bad skin condition like I do / did and even if you only have a pimple or two once in a while this babe will help you get through it. (:

Talk to you soon,

xoxo,
J.

Yummy potion

Hello my little caterpillars,
So this will probably be the shortest blogpost ever but I just needed to share this with you guys.
It is not directly beauty related but it's just the best beverage ever and it's healthy so it kind of is beauty related. :p
You've probably seen this all over Instagram and maybe even tried it yourself, it's the "detox water" or whatever you want to call it. Basically it's just water in which you put all kind of fruit in and it just cleanse your body and skin depending on which fruit you decide to put in.
Personally, I've always loved iced tea but with tonnes of sugar in it, I just couldn't bare the taste of an herb in my water without anything added to it. It always seemed so bitter. However, maybe my taste just changed with the age, but I LOVE THIS it's so delicious!!!
I found this particular "recipe" on Pinterest and I thought I'd give it a try and I totally fell for it.

You'll need:

  • your favourite fruit, I went for strawberries, raspberries and an orange. Normally I'd add some lemon to it too, but we didn't have any left. :/
  • some water of course,
  • a glass, in my case I took this really cute kind of jar looking glass which I absolutely needed to get as soon as I saw them. Argh love these,
  • a mint tea bag, it'll add a very nice fresh touch to the beverage which is perfect for summer.

Simply wash and cut your fruit so that it'll fit into your glass/bottle. Fill about 3/4 of your glass with water (don't put to much water in or else it'll spill when you'll add the fruit). Put in the tea bag and add your fruit. Tada it's as simple as that. You can add whatever and how much of it you want, let your imagination go wild (;

What would you add to your detox water? Go ahead and tell me in the comments below! :D

Until next time,

xoxo,
J.

Ohhh Paris you spoiled me part 2

Hello my little caterpillars,
How are you on this wonderful day? I have to admit I haven't had a lot of time to prepare articles for you guys since my exams are getting pretty damn close... But I try to do my best and write a many as I possibly can (:
If you follow me on Instagram (if you don't I'll link it down bellow) you know that I went to Paris last week for a school interview and of course there was some shopping involved (; I mean hellooo PARIS???? How can't someone go shopping in Paris? Right?
I know I already did a Paris haul a while ago, but I have to share my goodies I found in that wonderful city don't you agree?

So let's start with fashion. I didn't buy a lot of clothes I don't know why, I just didn't feel like it.

My first purchase was a grey wide slightly cropped t-shirt from Cheap Monday. I am in love with it! It's super comfy and feels so smooth on my skin. It looks pretty big on me but I love oversized clothes and this shirt is perfect!
Next I went to Abercrombie & Fitch where I found this lovely summer dress. It has this blue knitted detailing all over it and this small fringes on the bottom which looks amazing and super cute. It is perfect for a hot summer day with a hat and some booties it'll look great.

Now to one of my favourite items I bought: the Minnetonka sandals. These shoes are so cute and so comfortable it's amazing. I'm never able to find a proper pair of sandals which I really like, so when I found these it was love at first sight.

Let's move to my favourite part: make-up :D
Off course I bought some lipies, how could I not? :p
First I bought the Mac Faux lipstick with the matching lip pencil in Soar which make a very pretty pinky/brownish colour. This combo is great for a natural and nude lip, perfect for an every day wear.
Next up is the Too Faced Melted lipstick in Fig which is a soft purple colour which I love! I haven't tried it yet but I've seen how it looks and it's stunning.
And finally my love surprised me with the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette which I wanted to purchase for so long but never had the opportunity to. Aaaaah I'm so happy, there are so many great looks possible with this palette. :D

What's a better souvenir than something you'll use every day from your favourite brand with place where you bought it written on it? Yes, I'm talking about the Mac "Champs-Elysées" make-up bag. Guys this thing is amazing! all of my make-up fits in there I never had such a great make-up bag! I totally recommend it and plus have you seen that design? It's just sick!

My last stop was the Disney Store... Where I went kind of crazy. I'm TsumTsum addicted guys, but look at these little things, they're adorable! My personal favourite is Thumper from Bambi, he's so cute :$ yep I'm a five year old....

And finally I told you I went to Paris for an Uni interview and I got in :D I have the great honour to be one of the few people who got accepted into that school :D I'm the happiest person ever right now. (:

Until next time,

xoxo,
J.

The ugly duckling.

Hello my little caterpillars,
Yes It's been a while since my last post, but I kind of had a big lack of inspiration, I just couldn't find any ideas that I liked. So today I thought I'd show you nothing beauty related, but I'll be showing you how to customise a damaged book. It doesn't sound super interesting, but it really made a difference you'll see and it's really easy to make, it just takes quite some time (well I took a lot of time but I like to take my time :p)

So here's my super damaged book. It looks horrible (it looks worse in real life than on the pictures), but it was the very last one and they wouldn't get any new ones in and it's actually a gift for someone and I thought it was just the perfect gift for that person. I couldn't leave it like that and risking not to find a better gift, soooo I bought it and decided to slightly change it's appearance.  (; you'll see :p

You'll need:

  • some paper sheets with really cool designs on them
  • scissors
  • glue
  • a pencil
  • a ruler
  • and of course your book :D

Start by measuring how wide and high your book is and you may want to try drawing the measures on an other sheet of paper than the one you actually want to apply on your book (just to be sure your "drawing" is right for your book). If your sketch is right do the same on your actual sheet. Oh and don't forget to leave 1-2 extra centimetres on each end which you will fold and glue onto the inside of the book cover later on.

It's time to use your glue which you'll apply on the ends which go on the inside of the book. :D

With your "base" done, you can add whatever you want to it, stickers, drawings, the title of your book maybe :p etc.

Aannd voila! That was it for this post, I know it's not really what I normally do but I tried to do something different. I'm not sure if this was okay so tell what you think about it in the comments and if I should do stuff like this more often. I enjoyed doing this and I love you guys very much and I'll try to post more regularly again at least once a week. (:

Where have you been all my life?

Hello my little caterpillars,
Today's post will be all about a little miracle product I recently decided to finally purchase: the original, the one and only Beauty Blender.

I know I'm late with this one, but guys, Luxembourg is a small country, there isn't always every product you want and need. (Like EOS balms and tangle tweezers which you have to get abroad..) Anyway, I went to Sephora again about two weeks ago and saw this one on the shelves, the thing is it seemed to me as if they were super small compared to what you see on Youtube and Instagram, you know? So I was like nehh if it's a mini version of it I don't want it. But later on, I started thinking and decided to get it anyway before it was too late and it would be gone (like the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette I saw once but I couldn't afford it, two days later my boyfriend told me he wanted to surprise me with it but they didn't have it anymore.. urrghh but wasn't it the sweetest thing ever?? I'm a lucky girl :$$$). Back to the original topic here, I went back and was so scared because I just couldn't find it anymore because they totally hid them from me haha nah I'm kidding they just put them somewhere more "discrete" and I was able to find it (thank god).
So I got home and off course the first thing I do is open it duuuh and I was really surprised by the texture of the sponge. It's elastic and soft without being "gummy" you know what I mean? It's a pretty weird feeling, but it's nice. (:
Obviously I wasn't going to take all of my make-up off to put a new coat on right after that, so I waited until the next morning where hold it under the water in the sink where I noticed why it appeared so small to me -> a sponge get's wider and bigger when it's wet. I'm blond okay don't judge me here, for me the sponge was dry in the Youtube videos haha.

Anyway, after squeezing it until there wasn't any water left, I put some foundation on my hand and dipped the sponge into it and tapped it all over my face. GUYS! The finish looked marvellous, super natural and covered every redness and spots on my face and that's not even the best part! After going to school for seven hours I came home and it still looked perfect, I wasn't shiny at all, the foundation didn't fade, I'm still amazed about it over here. Seriously, wow..

What are your beauty musts? What do you use to apply your foundation? I'd love to here about it :D

I need them.

Hello my little caterpillars,
Lately I've been doing a lot of product reviews and I really don't want to become that girl who always does the same things and talks about the same stuff, routine is just boring guys, so I thought I'd do something slightly different and tell you about the 10 things I need, need, need, need, need on an every day basis, literally the things I just couldn't get through a day without. It goes from beauty essentials to accessorises to all kind of other stuff.

#1:
Obviously, my phone. I know it sounds pathetic but I couldn't live without my phone. I just need to be connected and talk to people. Sure nothing tops a live interaction but if you don't really have time to meet people or they are busy, a phone comes in really handy (; I think that nowadays most people couldn't imagine their lives without their phone, I mean, I got my whole life on my phone, my pictures, my contacts, my music... I couldn't imagine how I'd react if I lost all of this. Plus, I'm addicted to Instagram. (Yep....) And if you're following me on Instagram you might know that I recently got the iPhone 6 and guys this phone is just great. Having tiny hands I was scared it would be to big for me, but it's absolutely not the case. I wouldn't give it up for any other phone.

#2:
My dogs. If you guys didn't know I have four little chihuahua's (here are two of them :p) and I love them to bits. These little monsters make me so happy and capable of so much love, each day I don't see my dogs is kind of a sadder day to me I don't know. Having them jump at me in the morning and when I get home is just the best feeling in the world (besides of all the cuddling of course).

#3:
The Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. Yes, here it is again. I can not leave my house without mascara on my lashes, no way and I know I'm talking/writing a lot about this one, but guys... IT IS THE BOMB! It gives your lashes so much volume and "fulness" what could you ever want more in a mascara??

#4:
My Tangle Tweezer. My sister introduced me to this babe quite a while ago but it's not something that's easy to find in Luxembourg and weirdly I never came to the idea to order it on Amazon.. hmm.. However, on my trip to Paris we went to Urban Outfitters and there it was, calling for me and begging me to take it with me, so I did and even though it was super expensive (since it was Paris+Urban) it was totally worth it! I don't leave the house without it in my purse/backpack. My ends look so much healthier since I've started using it. I'm in love.

#5:
Coffee. I'm addicted. I can not go through the day without having at least one cup of coffee. I don't know why but I prefer iced coffee to hot one always have always will. Funny fact: I used to hate coffee to bits, I couldn't stand anything about it, neither the look nor the taste. And one day it suddenly changed. I still don't get it haha.

#6:
My Eos Lipbalm. This is the best thing I ever purchased, like ever! My lips have the mean tendency to dry out pretty fast and I could never find a lip balm which convinced me until I found this precious. Actually I asked my dad to bring them from his trip to New York last year since you can't find them anywhere nearby and I kind of got mad with my order. I think I've got almost all of them. And they're amazing they're super long lasting and smooth your lips so much. I can't get enough of it.

#7:
As I said before I'm Instagram addicted.. I can absolutely not go through a day without going on Instagram at least once but who am I kidding as if I would only go on it once a day. I honestly wish though hahaha.
I'll link my account down below if you want to check it out.

#8:
Weirdly I can not get out of the house without wearing jewellery. I feel weird when I'm not wearing my rings or a necklace. On my left hand I'm always wearing the ring my boyfriend gave me quite a while ago, I'm never going anywhere without it (it's kind of my lucky charm). On my right hand I've recently always been wearing the Electric By Evelina Geometric Ring in gold. I think there wasn't a day I wasn't wearing it since I got it. :$ I really really like it, it's very light so it doesn't bother you during the day which in my opinion is pretty cool. As a necklace I'm mostly wear the Electric By Evelina Geometric Unicorn or the Molten Bar from the same brand. I already wrote a post on them if you want to check it out (:

#9:
My glasses. I am totally blind if it comes to recognising something that's not quite near. I can not even really watch TV without my glasses to be honest, so they're quite essential to me in my daily life. In class, for driving, at a concert, at an unknown gelato place, I need them with me at all times.
I currently own a pair of RayBan's but I unfortunately can't remember the exact model ):

#10:
Let me introduce you to my latest obsession: my new wallet which I got from Sacha. Oh my god guys, I found this and immediately fell in love! The design is so original and fits me completely. To be honest I never found a wallet which really like convinced me. The one I've been using until this one was the really tiny Longchamp wallet I've got for my birthday which is actually great when you go clubbing or something but on an everyday basis it's just not handy at all. Not half of my cards fit in there and it was so hard to get anything out of there since it was so full. This one however, is enormous, my phone even fits in there I'm just saying. But the thing I like the most about it is that the 'coin section' is on the inside of the wallet. Genius!

Well these were my 10 daily essentials, I hope you enjoyed this post, I had a lot of fun writing it. (:

What are your daily essentials? Tell me :D

A great journey of boxes

Hello my little caterpillars and welcome back to wonderland,
I'd heard so many good echoes about the french Birchbox for so long so one day I decided to subscribe for a year. I got my little goody box every month, every one of them filled with magical items. Sadly I recently my subscription got to an end and I got my very last box. ): I am pretty sad about it since they never disappointed me and it was kind of exciting to get a little box every month full with stuff you'll like and you didn't know what it was until it came, it's like a small birthday present twelve times a year. :D I mean what could you want more?

I'll have to admit I was very lucky with the march box since it's design is pretty cool and original, it's kind of a mandala you can fill in and use as a decoration in your room afterwards. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to put some colour on it yet, but will do guys, I promise! Another plus is that all the items in this edition are great, there's not a single one of them which I don't like.

Let's start with a small lifesaver you'll probably already know about, the Batiste dry shampoo (on the right of the picture). I'm sure you've all had at least once that one day where your hair just didn't seem to have the same will as you do, it looks flat, greasy, without any "life" and you just don't have the time to wash it or anything, well this great product has a great cherry scent, it's smells so fruity and fresh and is the perfect size to be packed in your purse and is ready to accompany you everywhere you go.
The next product I've got is the Sampar Dry Cleansing make-up remover, I didn't have the occasion to try it yet, but I did my little research about it and apparently it isn't bad at all. (: I'm sorry I don't have that much to say about this one. ):

Next up is the Merci Handy antibacterial gel which is a Birchbox special edition and guys this smells like heaven, no kidding, it smells so good I can't even believe it. It's a mix of amber perfume and a cherry tree flower. It's amazing. No other words needed. It's freshens your hands up immediately, you feel cleaner the second you apply it. (:
The forth item I found in that magical box is the Lord & Berry bronzer, now for me, no bronzer will ever replace the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Bronzer but it's always worth a try right? (; The colour matches great with my skin tone, but apparently it matches with every skin tone. It is slightly darker than my Too Faced one but it's okay (: It isn't shiny or anything which I think is great. I HATE shiny bronzers! Urgh worst looking thing on your face ever. (In my opinion).

Last but as always definitely not least the So Susan Lip Dome in Rhubarb Rouge. This little babe is a tinted lip balm and on the contrary of any other tinted lip balm I've tried so far, this one is REALLY pigmented. I know it may be hard to believe but your lips will be the exact same colour the balm is! (:  This one is the bomb guys! I'm obsessed with it, it's super moisturising and super easy to apply and best thing of all: the colour lasts for hours! Yep, I told you, THE BOMB. I highly recommend this babe to you loves. (:

Do you have any subscriptions of this kind? If yes, which one? Would you recommend it to me? (:
